BRUSSELS (May 5, 2025) – The European Paper Packaging Alliance today announces the appointment of Annick Carpentier as its new Director General. Annick has extensive policy and strategy experience in EU sustainability and environmental policy.
“We’re thrilled to have someone with Annick’s background and of her calibre in this role at a critical time for our sector as the new European Commission’s welcome focus on competitiveness is taking hold,” said EPPA President Fredrik Davidsson.
“I’m delighted and honoured to accept this exciting new challenge, which comes at an important juncture for the food paper packaging sector,” said Annick Carpentier.
Before joining EPPA, she worked as Director General at the Food and Beverage Carton Alliance (formerly ACE, the Alliance for Beverage Cartons and the Environment) and as Sustainability Director at Eurometaux, the European Federation of the Non-Ferrous Metals Industry.
Prior to that, she was Secretary General of the International Confederation of Inspection and Certification Organisations (CEOC) and Deputy Managing Director at CEPI (the Confederation of European Paper Industries).
A Belgian national, she holds academic degrees in translation, in political sciences and a special degree in environmental management. She succeeds Matti Rantanen, who is joining the European Panel Federation as Managing Director.
